The Children and Youth Ministry relies on volunteers to run our programs and events.  Volunteering is such a rewarding experience for both the volunteer and the children and youth who benefit from their time and attention.

We require all volunteers within Children and Youth Ministry to have a valid Police Reference Check for the vulnerable sector.  These reference checks can be transferred from other organizations to help simplify the process for becoming a volunteer.   We also follow the rules and guidelines established by the Presbyterian Church of Canada, for Leading With Care.

Adult Volunteers

We are looking for adult volunteers who are able to help with our Sunday Morning programs, in both First Contact and the Nursery at each service (9am and 10:30am).

Nursery Leaders are asked to arrive shortly before the service starts, so that parents who wish their children to spend the duration of the worship service upstairs can drop them off before the service begins.

In order to provide age appropriate lessons and activities, we require two teachers for each service; one for the 4 - 6 year olds and one for the 7 - 12 year olds.   We also need helpers to support the teachers and provide additional assitance to the children.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer helper for First Contact or the Nursery, please complete the Sunday Morning Volunteer Interest Form.

Teen Volunteers

An important compliment to our volunteer base are the teens who help out with programs.  Teen Volunteer opportunities are important for every aspect of our Ministry.  Every hour that a High School student spends volunteering with our children and youth will count towards the mandatory community service hours needed to graduate.

To show your interest in becoming a Teen Volunteer on Sunday Mornings, please complete the Sunday Morning Volunteer Interest Form

First Contact Parent Helpers

We are asking all parents who have children who participate in First Contact Regularly, to volunteer two Sundays a year as either a Parent Helper or a Parent Teacher.   Please complete the Parent Helper Form to let us know what month you would be able to help and you will be added into the schedule accordingly.
